Desert Springs Church in Palm Desert, California is a non-denominational Christian community of up to 900 in weekly attendance during the winter season. We are seeking a part-time pastor to lead and shepherd our growing senior adult ministry. Related responsibilities include providing leadership and direction to our Sunday morning senior adult Sunday school class, co-leading our prayer ministry with our senior pastor, and home and hospital visitation of our congregation.
The ideal candidate will show evidence of a personal faith in Jesus Christ and possess a solid knowledge of Scripture and a passion for helping and discipling people. Preference will be given to those gifted spiritually in teaching and pastoring.
Additionally, qualified candidates will possess at minimum a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Bible college or seminary and no less than ten years professional ministry experience working with a senior adult population. Additional skills needed for this position include the ability to build and maintain trust and strong bonds of community with our entire congregation, demonstrated abilities in effective planning, organizing, problem-solving and communicating and a passionate call to serve the needs of senior adults.
