- Jews for Jesus, San Francisco Headquarters Office is currently looking to fill and IT Support position.
Date Available: Immediately
Salary: $40,000 -- $50,000 per year, depending on experience; includes generous health and retirement benefits
Description:
Jews for Jesus is a well-known international evangelistic outreach organization headquartered in San Francisco in need of an IT Support person with good knowledge of PC and Mac, desktop and laptop support. The person will be primarily responsible for workstation support of up to sixty users in San Francisco. There will also be opportunities for remote software support for staff in our branches across the US and worldwide. The job will include regular printing responsibilities and ongoing system upgrade projects, in addition to fixing ongoing issues with workstations. There would be room for growth into network and server support roles. You’d be working in a small IT department alongside 2 programmers and under the IT Director. Required Qualifications:
• Passion for sharing the gospel message of Jesus Christ.
• Software support experience for users of both PCs and Macs.
• Experience supporting Windows XP or later and Apple OS X Leopard or later.
• Advanced desktop and laptop hardware support skills.
• Willingness to perform regular large printing jobs on a strict schedule alongside other tasks.
• Advanced familiarity with Microsoft Office 2003 or later (2007 preferred).
• A strong ability to analyze problems logically while paying close attention to users’ needs.
• Excellent analytical, technical and communication skills, (effectively communicating your own good ideas).
• Ability to work independently and pro-actively under supervision.
• Ability to pay high attention to detail and multi-task under deadlines.
• Ability to efficiently and effectively troubleshoot immediate problems and offer long-term solutions.
Preferred Qualifications:
• University degree in business, computer science, or similar degree
• Familiarity with setting up advanced features of Outlook 2007 and Entourage 2008
• Skills in network support including routers, switches, wireless access points and firewall configuration
• Experience with Windows Server support such as performing software upgrades and automating backups
Responsibilities overview:
• Regular print jobs
• Setup of new PC and Mac workstations, users and network configurations
• Software installation and general support (PC and Mac)
• Management of anti-virus and anti-spyware software
• Repair and maintenance of failed hardware components in desktops and laptops
• Transfer of files to replacement machines
• Setup and maintenance of printers
• Scheduling and performing backups: onsite/offsite
• Configuration of e-mail client software for each user
• Set-up of new Exchange e-mail accounts (instructions provided)
• Troubleshooting e-mail issues with staff
• Managing smart phone access to e-mail
• Network user login management and access privileges
• Documentation of Software licenses and Computer configurations
• Learning and skill development
