Job Description:
The Executive Director provides leadership to position World Servants on the cutting edge of the industry. The Executive Director has primary responsibility to lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the organization to ensure efficiency, quality, service and cost-effective management of resources that promote revenue, profitability and growth as an organization..

As advisor and counselor to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director helps to set the vision for World Servants’ future development and guides the business decisions that fulfill the mission and align with the core values of World Servants.

World Servants is a faith-based mission organization, promoting Christian values and discipleship throughout the world. As such, the Executive Director will confess Jesus Christ as his/her Lord and Savior, and understand and accept World Servants’ Christian mission in the world and its core values.
Additionally, the Executive Director will possess:

Leadership and Management

  • Excellent proven leadership and management skills, including an understanding of their difference and inter-relationship;
  • Experience in strategic planning and execution, formulating policy and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures;
  • Ability to provide spiritual leadership to the staff and World Servants’ Board of Directors
  • Be conversant with mission philosophy and understanding of working with churches across denominational lines;
  • Ability to identify and analyze complex issues and challenges/problems in management areas, and implement appropriate solutions;
  • Ability to manage administrative functions economically and efficiently, allocate limited resources, organize workloads, establish priorities and maintain good interpersonal relations with field and support staff;
  • Demonstrated willingness and ability to delegate.


Direct Experience

  • First-hand knowledge and experience with short-term mission projects (preferred);
  • Service in/with a non-profit or church.


Resource Development

  • Proven track record of identifying and securing funding/revenue sources.


Public Relations

  • Ability to interact with officials at all levels of government, for-profit and not-for-profit organizations, including the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies, all with diverse cultural backgrounds;
  • Ability and desire to publicly represent World Servants including major speaking assignments.


Flexibility

  • Willingness and ability to work evenings and weekends when necessary, and engage in significant travel.


Experience: Minimum of five years leading a complex organization, with management responsibility over multiple functional areas, and responsibility for administering a budget of at least $3 million.

Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in non-profit administration or related field (or equivalent work experience) required. Graduate level training in non-profit management or business administration preferred.
